Kathmandu. Nepal. The Himalayas. An exotic area of the world that many people dream about visiting. Kate made that dream come true.

A casual phone call to a friend sparked the fulfillment of Kate’s lifelong dream of traveling to Nepal in order to trek in the Himalayas. She jokingly mentioned to her friend Kay who was planning to start a new exercise routine that they could get fit on a trip to the Himalayas.

Within just a few weeks, Kate and Kay found themselves on a plane on the way to the adventure of a lifetime:

– seeing the gorgeous snow-capped Himalayas in person so close that it seemed that Kate could just reach out her hand to touch them

– trekking for days into areas that only the most adventurous travelers ever reach.

What Kate learned about herself during the challenging and sometimes excrutiating, but always stimulating, adventure of trekking at high altitude over rough terrain truly transformed her in ways that often did not become apparent until many years later.

Follow Kate as she learns more about how to expand her limits so that she can truly fulfill her dream. And maybe you will find yourself motivated to fulfill your dream as well.

A Tale of 3 Witches by Christiana Miller & Barbara Annino
Genre - Contemporary Fantasy (PG)
4.0 (30 reviews)
FREE until 16th July 2012
When a mysterious stranger invades Amethyst, IL, stealing souls to feed a demon and generally ruining Halloween for the local kids, three witches join forces to take him on.

This short story reunites Mara, Gus, Aunt Tillie and Grundleshanks the Toad (from the Toadwitch paranormal series) with Stacy Justice, the Geraghty Girls and Thor, the Great Dane, (from the Stacy Justice paranormal mystery series).

As Gus, Mara and Stacy band together, they're bossed around by the cantankerous ghost of Mara's Aunt Tillie, tripped up by the spirit of Lord Grundleshanks the Poisonous Toad, backed up by Stacy's grandmother's coven, and given assistance by a local hoodoo master -- in-between episodes of Antiques Road Show, that is -- but they're still in for the Samhain of their lives.

If they don't stop the stranger's nefarious plan, the only thing they can count on is that all three of their souls will be at risk!

This short story is a quirky, paranormal adventure that combines thrills and chills with all-out spooky fun. It's a fun, fast-paced read, meant to tide readers over until Miller's and Annino's next full-length novels are released. However, it also works as a stand-alone to introduce new readers to the quirky paranormal world of the main characters.

"When I first decided to go back and read those old notebooks, I was desperate for answers. But my old self said: Look closer. Read between the lines. I left you secrets. Secrets that will take you on a terrifying journey. And if you survive that journey, you'll have more than just answers. You'll have everything."

Hollywood screenwriter Ben Cross is broken-hearted after the death of his young daughter. Even though he knows it's impossible, he still wants his little girl to have the Hollywood ending she deserves. And so Ben begins a desperate personal quest, searching for some sign from her. Consulting self-help gurus, philosophers, and religion, he derives a set of principles that reinforce his belief that everything can still work out. First, he applies those principles to finding that sign from his daughter. Then he applies them to his writing--to his career--to everything else in his life. Along the way, he discovers which principles work and which don't.

Meanwhile, at Ben Cross's side, the reader finds himself transported on his own spiritual odyssey, learning fundamental truths about how to live, how to maintain a career, and how to overcome cruel and unexpected setbacks.

Based on the author's own life, Under an Orange Sun, Some Days Are Blue is a unique and unforgettable story that offers fresh insights on how to find the inspiration to meet and conquer life's greatest challenges.

IF YOUR LIFE passed before your eyes when you died, would you change anything? Providence Westinghouse decided to change something -- he said "hello" to a girl on a bus -- and it changed everything. This simple, seemingly innocuous exchange of pleasantries unraveled an avalanche of consequences that would affect friends and strangers alike.

In this work of Twilight-Zone fiction, the fate of dozens of bystanders hangs in the balance, to be decided by a few people who have been granted the ability to posthumously relive and change their past. The book revolves around a calamitous car accident on a major bridge in Seattle. Amidst the chaos of emergency, several characters relive their lives with an opportunity to change past events.

Until his car plunged off a bridge just north of Seattle, everything had gone swimmingly for Providence in his young life. Or so he had thought. He awoke within his car, upon an enigmatic and deserted sandy plane of existence. A place where he could relive his past. His life becomes a fungible canvass, and he begins to repaint it.

Meanwhile, hundreds of feet above Lake Union, rookie police officer Garth Harbinge finds himself struggling against all odds, and a cantankerous partner, to save an elderly woman with an infamous and fascinating past. His failure would lead to an explosion of new purgatorial possibilities. As if playing a game of Jenga with their memories, characters begin changing past decisions, affecting interminable timelines.
